Description: Nine-time Grammy Award winner Natalie Cole has proven to be one of the most beloved performers of all time. Cole rocketed to stardom in 1975 with her debut album, Inseparable, earning her a No. 1 single, This Will Be (An Everlasting Love), and two Grammy Awards for “Best New Artist” and “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.” In 1991, she took a bold leap that would change her life and career forever. Already a highly successful R&B artist, Cole amazed everyone when she recorded Unforgettable … With Love, an album of standards from the American Songbook that included a duet with her late father – Nat King Cole – on the title track. The album spent five weeks at No. 1 on the pop charts, earned six Grammy Awards and sold more than 14 million copies worldwide. A prolific recording artist, Cole has released more than 30 albums and continues to perform worldwide. Her latest release is Natalie Cole En Español, a collection of Spanish-language songs.

The ARTrageous gala will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction with local entertainment. Guests will be able to view the latest exhibitions at SMoCA before enjoying a seated gourmet dinner inside The Center’s Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium, followed by Natalie Cole’s performance in the Virginia G. Piper Theater and a post-show dessert reception. (“ARTrageous” or cocktail attire is suggested.)
