Description: STEP to the Rhythm, DANCE to the Rhythm performance is part of the Dance Festival of So AZ produced by ADC. Dance companies and dancers/choreographers from So AZ, as well as invited guests, will be performing pieces from all genres and styles. We invite you to see some of the best dancing So AZ has to offer – in one venue, one one stage. Performing groups will be selling tickets as a fundraiser for their companies.
Tickets will be available at BrownPaperTickets.com on Sept 15. General Admission $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Discounted tickets for ADC, AzDEO members $10, and Dance Festival participants/students (Discount Code will be emailed to members). Seniors (65+), military, and students under 12 also $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
The Dance Festival of So AZ, produced by ADC and AzDEO, also consists of 30 classes (all genres, plus QiGong, Feldenkrais & Floor Barre), that will be held at Tucson High Magnet School, 400 N 2nd Ave, Tucson, over the weekend (Oct 19-20). There will be a special adjudicated “peer” performance for high school dance “groups” on Sunday, 3 pm, in the Tucson HS Auditorium. Participating ADC members: Zuzi!, Xanadu, Barbara Schuessler, and Learn-to-Tango are also offering Introductory dance classes to the general public at their respective venues. Special workshops include Folklorico (dances from DURANGO never taught before in Tucson), Stepping, and Classical Ballet Technique/Variation.
13 instructors coming from NY, LA, Yuma, Mesa and Tucson, are bringing excitement to our So AZ dance communities. Join us this weekend as we celebrate Rhythm and Dance!
