1:00pm-1:30pm ~ Welcome, Meet & Greet Reception (Light snacks and refreshments provided) – Mingle and meet other dance colleagues from around the state. Please bring business cards and promotional materials to share.
1:30pm-2:00pm ~ Introductions & Overview ~ Meet the ADC Board Members and other dance colleagues. There will be a brief overview of this past year’s events and accomplishments.
2:00pm-2:45pm ~ Guest Speaker ~ Ben Watters (Arizona Commission on the Arts)
Presentation: Do Arizonans attend the arts? Are Arizona’s arts organizations truly undercapitalized? The Arts Commission’s Ben Watters will present a data-driven analysis of Arizona’s non-profit arts organizations and report on how the agency’s current research activities are changing the way we understand Arizona’s arts sector. Watters will also discuss current initiatives at the Arts Commission, and opportunities for artists and arts organizations to get involved.
Ben Watters is the Grants and Operations Coordinator at the Arizona Commission on the Arts, where he manages statewide grant programs for artists and non-profit organizations. He has been a guest speaker for organizations including the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies and the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture, and his research has been used in advocacy efforts at Arizona Arts Congress. Prior to joining the Arts Commission, Ben cofounded a composers’ collective in Los Angeles, where he worked as a producer, engineer, and in other capacities in the music industry.
