Ballet Arizona presents BALLET UNDER THE STARS (Fountain Hills)
September 8, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm MST
FREEBallet Arizona presents BALLET UNDER THE STARS | 7 pm
Ballet Arizona begins the season with Ballet Under the Stars – a free outdoor production touring four Valley towns. Families can leisurely gather and enjoy classical and contemporary ballet works under a celestial canopy. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and treats. A professional stage, complete with lighting and sound, is built especially for Ballet Arizona dancers outfitted in professional costumes.
“Ballet Under the Stars is one of our favorite annual traditions, and we’re proud to be able to present it again to the community this year,” says Artistic Director Ib Andersen. “These performances are an exceptional gathering and celebration of art that allows all people to be immersed in the world of ballet.”
Ballet Under the Stars also showcases world premiere performances choreographed by local school students through the Class Act program. Each year Ballet Arizona’s professional dancers provide a three-week dance training class for students in four different elementary schools across the Valley. The culminating highlight of their work is delivered as a performance in the Ballet Under the Stars program. This education program is free for students and is generously funded by Joan Benjamin and Laurence Cherkis.
