Breaking Ground 2015
Breaking Ground 2015 is a two day contemporary dance festival held at the Tempe Center for the Arts that has been produced by CONDER/dance in Arizona since 2007.
Recently identified by the Phoenix New Times as “Best Dance Festival” and on Jackalope Ranch’s list of “The 10 Best Things I Saw in Metro Phoenix in 2014” … you do not want to miss this year’s offerings. Selected artists come from Arizona, New York, Finland, California, Texas and beyond. New to Breaking Ground this year is “ten tiny dances.” Twenty Arizona Artists, one very small stage. A total of 32 artists will be presented over the course of two unique nights of programming.
Breaking Ground 2015 consists of two different nights of programming in both non-traditional spaces and a 600-seat theater, numerous master classes open to the Arizona community and an AfterParty event. Our goal is to present quality dance work in its many forms to Arizona audiences.
This is a tightly curated event. Chosen through a competitive adjudication process, CONDER/dance presents artists from all over the world who are exploring new terrain and taking artistic chances both in the live performance and film genres.
Events may be viewed in these formats: list, week, day, map, photo and month.
Serving Arizona's dance communities and "creating connections" between the dancers and the general public.
