Nicole L Olson will be presenting two site-specific works on February 24th and March 3rd for this internationally-renowned event located at the Scottsdale Canal in downtown Scottsdale.

Following local dancer and choreographer Nicole Olson’s performance on the 24th, she will engage the patrons of Canal Convergence with an exciting workshop. Site-specific dance/performance is work created in response to a particular place or site, inspired by its architecture or design, its history, its current use, and by the natural environment. This project-based workshop focuses on the creation of live site-specific choreography and performance works for conception and performance. Nicole will lead a quick warm-up, then guide you through a process of creating a concept and producing movement and phrases to see the beginning of your own site-specific piece.

Following March 3rd’s performance will be an opportunity to ‘talk with the artist.’

This event is presented by Scottsdale Public Art.

February 24th – “Descending Fables” 6 pm, located next to the Canal, followed by the ‘workshop.’

March 3rd – “Nomad” 6 pm, located on the Marshall Way Bridge, followed by the ‘artist’ talk.
