Deadline to Register for PCC 14-week classes is September 8. Afterwards, you need instructor’s permission.

Pima Community College offers dance courses in Ballroom and Salsa under Fitness and Wellness Program (FAW). These classes taught by ADC member Krystyna Parafinczuk give beginners enough basics in all the Latin Styles of dance (rumba, samba, salsa, mambo, cha cha, merengue, bachata, cumbia) as well as Fox Trot, Waltz, Ballroom Tango and Swing/Lindy Hop, to give them courage to participate in the real world social dance settings thriving in the Tucson and Phoenix metro areas. No partners necessary and friendships are bound to develop.  Couples – make it a date night!

Non-marking shoes that enable you to swivel on a hardwood floor, and are comfortable, are required.  “Finals” are field trips to Tucson Salsa and Ballroom group dance parties.

FEE: 1 credit or audit = same fee of $75.50 plus registration fees. PCC dance courses continue to be the most affordable in town – less than $3 hour!

Here are the deadline dates, campus locations, and registration codes for enrolling at www.pima.edu:

DEADLINE to register: SEPTEMBER 8 (14-week course). Register in advance of this date to insure the classes will take place. All classes begin the week of September 9. After this date, students desiring to enroll will require the instructor’s signature.

Ballroom/Latin Dance I – PCC NW Location (corner of Shannon and Magee / classes held in the NW YMCA Aerobic Studio). First class meets September 12 (through 12/20). FAW 112F1, CRN 12001, Saturdays, 4-6:10 pm.

Salsa/Latin Dance I – PCC West Location (St. Mary’s/Anklam and Greasewood, in Room 102 in the Fitness Sports Science Center, free-standing bldg in the NW corner of the campus next to the sports fields). First class meets September 15 (through 12/20).  FAW 123F1, CRN 11908, Tuesdays, 7:05 pm-9:35 pm.
