Dynamic Observation: Understand your students better through careful movement observation. Learn to use the Dynamic Embodiment framework that combines elements of Laban Movement Analysis (BESS), BEST and the neuro-developmental principles of Body-Mind Centering (r) combined with Bartenieff Fundamentals (as in Brain Dance). Use this individualized assessment‎ based on developmental and somatic frameworks to create lesson plans. Apply the knowledge gained with any group of children or youth including those with learning, behavioral/ emotional  and physical disabilities. Applications to adult education can be made.

Martha Eddy, CMA, RSMT, EdD is a founder of the field of Somatic Movement Education & Therapy & Dance Scomatics, author and lecturer on eco-somatics, neuro-motor & socio-emotional development, & peace education . She’s taught for NYU, Princeton, Columbia, Hope & Hampshire Colleges. Her clients range from pre-natal to elders. She teaches her system of “BodyMind Dancing” internationally, & master classes for the Laban/Bartenieff Institute, School for Body-Mind Centering® and her Dynamic Embodiment SMTT. She directs the Center for Kinesthetic Education providing professional development and pre-K-12 and adult “healthy dancing.” She developed Moving For Life DanceExercise for Cancer Recovery in 1996.
