director, choreographer, teacher, and collaborative theater maker. She is Head of Movement
at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City where she has been on the faculty
since 1997; teaching movement, physical acting, and devising in both the conservatory and
the undergraduate acting program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She has been movement
director/physical acting coach/choreographer on over 40 productions in New York.
As a performer, her work ranges from devised physical theater to classical theater. Jena holds
a BFA in Dance Performance from the Performing Arts Conservatory at SUNY Purchase.
After college she trained with Pina Bausch and Tanztheatre Wupperthal in Germany.
While is residence at CGCC, Jena will teach a dynamic way of working in our
bodies that incorporates the techniques of Laban-Bartenieff, Grotowski,
Lucid Body, and Viewpoints that bring an impulse awareness to actors and dancers.
