Founded in 2017 as a part of ASU School of Music, Dance and Theatre’s Sol Motion project, the festival is a three-day event composed of social and performance dance workshops, lectures by visiting guest artists, evening social dancing, dance performances and more at various locations on the Tempe campus.
Latin Sol encourages exposure to learning by bringing guest artists from out of state who provide varied teaching perspectives and encourage crossover interactions between multiple dance communities.
Hosted by the ASU Salsa Club, Latin Sol is primarily by ASU students and alumni for the students and alumni. Although designed primarily with the ASU community in mind, Latin Sol also welcomes and cherishes participation by outside members of the dance community. The event bridges these communities and encourages a unification of all dance lovers.
