Scottsdale School of Ballet in “2019 Winter Festival”
1 & 6 pm shows ~ The Scottsdale School of Ballet’s “2019 Winter Festival” sponsored by the Scottsdale Ballet Foundation will feature a World Premiere by Donald Dadey, entilted “Distant Land”, set to the charming English folk tunes of John Rutter. This ballet showcases the Pre-Professional levels at SSB in a challenging work with fast technnique and pointework.
For the holiday treat of the evening we present “The Nutcracker Suite” where the directors, Sibylle Acatos-Dadey and Donald Dadey, have re-staged a 1st Act Party Scene, leading into a dreamy Snow Scene. For the 2nd Act we have highlighted all of the traditional dances, culminating with the dance of the “Sugar Plum Fairy” and a rousing finale by the entire cast to set you in the holiday Spirit.
