Scottsdale School of Ballet presents “Soiree de Ballet 2019”
May 11, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - May 12, 2019 @ 2:30 pm MST
$28 – $38Scottsdale School of Ballet is happy to return to the Paradise Valley Community College, for our annual “Soiree de Ballet 2019” sponsored by the Scottsdale Ballet Foundation.
The evening features the perennial favorite, “The Ballet Class,” where the audience gets a look into the training of a ballet student, from the beginning steps through the Advanced level. This is followed by “The Enchanted Room”, an original work choreographed by Donald and Sibylle Dadey, and Flamenco by Julia Chacon is set to a compilation score where the story follows a girl who instead of doing homework, daydreams, falls asleep and dreams of a faraway land. Or is it a dream?
For the finale, we present highlights and our variations from “La Bayadere-Act II“, set to the wonderful music of Ludwig Minkus. Exquisitely re-staged after one of the classical masters by Sibylle Acatos-Dadey, with additional choreography by her and director Donald Dadey. We are also featuring choreography from faculty members, Kelsey Kroll and Rebecca Boizelle for our Contemporary portion of the program.
Again, both performances are held at the Center for The Performing Arts, Paradise Valley Community College on Saturday, May 11th 7:00 and Sunday, May 12th at 2:30. Paradise Valley Community College is located at 18401 N 32nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85032 at the corner of 32nd Street and Union Hills.
