Recorrido Mexicano, inspired by Vanessa Ramirez, Artistic Director of Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ, is a 6-week virtual journey through Mexico featuring a new instructor each week presenting a lecture on the culture, traditions, history, dance, music and food of a specific state in Mexico. Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ dancers will perform the 6th week on the stage of the Chandler Center for the Arts showcasing the five states’ folklorico dances.
The event is sponsored by a grant from the Chandler Cultural Foundation with the production assistance of Chandler Center for the Arts. The video lectures will be aired through the Chandler Center for the Arts Vimeo channel.
